Come and See Overview Big Questions Other Faiths Lesson Time

COME AND SEE

When Jesus turned and saw them following, he said to them, ‘What are you looking for?’

They said to him, ‘Rabbi (which translated means Teacher), where are you staying?’

He said to them, ‘Come and see.’

They came and saw where he was staying, and they remained with him that day.”  (John 1:35-39)

At Our Lady Queen of Martyrs School, we invite you to “Come and see” what Christ is offering us all. If you accept the invitation, then the journey ahead is a very special one indeed. We invite you to journey into the fullness of God’s love for Jesus said, “I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” (John 10:10)

Religious Education is “the core of the curriculum” as we study the mystery of Christ and the teaching of his Church. In the light of the faith of the Church, we engage with the deepest questions of life and encourage our pupils to find reasons to hope in God’s promises to each and every one of us.

At Our Lady Queen of Martyrs School, the “Come and See” programme is used as recommended by the Diocese. Our children learn about God’s story and the Church’s story. They especially learn the story of Christ’s birth, death and resurrection, the pattern of his loving life and the teaching that he gave. They learn about what it means to live in a faith community committed to building God’s Kingdom and how Catholics and other Christians are called to stand up for truth and justice, and show compassion to those in need.

It is our hope that the pupils here will learn lessons that will affect them for the rest of their lives. Please remember to pray for the success of our endeavors and rest assured that we will pray for you.
